If you’re a regular to this blog you might already know that I am a big, big, BIG fake tanner – but strictly for my legs, they’re oh so pale and need it if I’m getting them out! I genuinely would refuse to wear anything above knee-length if they weren’t tanned, they just look so much nicer when they’re bronze and lovely..
The LDN: SKINS Tone 3 Self Tan Mousse* promises a deep, bronze tan (hello, tone 3!) so sounded perfect for my needs. It comes with its own tanning mitt which is strangely made with a velvet-esque material as opposed to the usual traditional foam, providing a really light, absorbent application.
Granted, I applied A LOT of layers to get this level of intensity on my legs, but once the colour had developed it didn’t look streaky or patchy at all!
Actually, tell a lie, when I first applied it it was at night time and I did a tentative light application before going to bed. I guess it must have been pretty dim at the time and I couldn’t see clearly how even the tint was as the next day, when I awoke, it was a little streaky with clear patches missing. ARGHHH. However I simply showered it off, re-exfoliated veeeery lightly and applied again, but much more heavily. In that second application I probably did about three layers of product, which sounds a lot but I had to do it in order to cover over all the patchy areas evenly. But the results were great! And the tan lasted absolutely ages, for me the fade took well over seven days! Although I did moisturise plenty and avoided heavy exfoliation, etc..
Definitely a product to add to my YES list for fake tan! You can get a real, deep colour with this. I think I still prefer my HeShi Dark Foaming Mousse simply because the HeShi is deeper with less product/layering up, but I imagine most people don’t want to dive straight in there with the deepest tan possibly achieved from a product, so it’s probably ideal for those who want buildable control.
