Despite having tried a few one-off Murad pieces in the past, I wasn’t feeling what all the rave reviews clearly were. However I think I was getting it wrong by just using the odd bit here and there, it is my understanding now that to reap the best results from Murad skincare, you need to use a dedicated skincare regime comprising solely of their products.
Like I did, just over a week ago. I know a week is not a long time to review skincare, but considering the Murad Complete Renewal Christmas Kit* that I was given in a goody bag had miniature sample sizes that only last a week (alongside full size products), I felt it was fair to judge the range on the use that others would be getting as well from this set.
So, I love it. My skin looks and feels amazing! The Murad Complete Renewal Christmas Kit consists of a full size Complete Reform with Glyco Firming Complex, and samples sizes of the Intensive Resurfacing Peel, Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30 and Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes. I also found a sample size of the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture which I added to the set to use a my night cream. So bar cleansing I had an entire Murad skincare regime.
Using all the products routinely together worked wonderfully. My absolute favourite was the Murad Intensive Resurfacing Peel, which is a little vial of product that you usually get four in a set of. One is meant to last one singular use, but I managed to squeeze three uses out of it. I used it twice a week, as an exfoliator, before going to bed. I did worry that as it doesn’t have any real physical beads in to scrub the skin, it wasn’t going to be effective enough, but by the second use a few days after the first, the texture and surface of my skin had improved brilliantly. Plus my skin was incredibly bright and even toned. FYI, you apply it on cleansed skin, as an even layer, leave it for 5-10 minutes, then rinse off.
I have since tried mixing it up and using different moisturisers with the Murad Complete Reform with Glyco Firming Complex (a close second favourite!) to see if I would reap the same results as using the entire skincare range, but I didn’t. The only way I’d get my skin looking as illuminated, plump and well hydrated was by using all the products together.
These Christmas Kits are so reasonably priced, great for those who already are fans of Murad as buying the set is actually cheaper than buying the one full size product inside the set, and as it was for me, it’s also a great introduction to a fab skincare brand. Using a whole range together really makes the difference. Once you’ve used up the set, to repurchase the products individually is going to be pricey, but I guess it depends on how much you’re willing to pay for brilliant skincare. These kits really let you know what you’re missing out on though, to help with the decision of switching to Murad.
The Murad Skin Renewal Christmas Kit is available now through the Murad site and in store.
