I’m a bit down today because the limited availability in my shoe size is really getting to me. I bought two pairs in time for Fashion Week (which the mere mutter of the term right now is making me shudder from all the stress it’s given me) in the smallest sizes available, and, well, basically, they’re both unsuitable and I have no idea what I’m going to wear now.
I’m mostly really gutted about this pair, a pair of suede (effect) flatforms from ASOS. I had seen another blogger wearing a leather pair and they looked great, really comfy and quirky. I knew ordering shoes that aren’t ‘strapped in’ from ASOS would be a long shot as ASOS shoes are quite roomy, but I was trying to think positive. I had envisioned them looking amazing with jeans and also cute dresses with tights.
Anyhow, they arrived, and looking exactly as I had hoped.. But still too large in the smallest size they came in. There’s no way I could get away with it, they kept slipping off the heels of my feet every step I took. I attempted to fill them out with cotton wool, and whilst initially it worked, when I went back to try it on later they had become lose and slippy-off again.
So I returned them. Sent them back the same day they arrived.
I didn’t want to. I really, REALLY liked them but knew if I tried to talk myself into keeping them by thinking I’d pad them out, etc. what would happen is that the padding out inevitably wouldn’t work and I’d have yet another pair of shoes I’d never wear because they’re too big.
The second pair of shoes which arrived today are these wedge trainers. I delusionally thought they looked comfy when I saw them online, so ordered them with extortionate express shipping charges (£20!) to get them in time for FW (can’t even bring myself to say the words anymore).
Not really impressed with them. And they’re uncomfortable. Oh well. FML.
