Flatform shoes and the blues..

I’m a bit down today because the limited availability in my shoe size is really getting to me. I bought two pairs in time for Fashion Week (which the mere mutter of the term right now is making me shudder from all the stress it’s given me) in the smallest sizes available, and, well, basically, they’re both unsuitable and I have no idea what I’m going to wear now.I’m mostly really gutted about this pair, a pair of suede (effect) flatforms from ASOS. I had seen another blogger wearing a leather pair and they looked great, really comfy and quirky. I knew ordering shoes that aren’t ‘strapped in’ from ASOS would be a long shot as ASOS  shoes are quite roomy, but I was trying to think positive. I had envisioned them looking amazing with jeans and also cute dresses with tights.Anyhow, they arrived, and looking exactly as I had hoped.. But still too large in the smallest size they came in. There’s no way I could get away with it, they kept slipping off the heels of my feet every step I took. I attempted to fill them out with cotton wool, and whilst initially it worked, when I went back to try it on later they had become lose and slippy-off again. So I returned them. Sent them back the same day they arrived. :(

I didn’t want to. I really, REALLY liked them but knew if I tried to talk myself into keeping them by thinking I’d pad them out, etc. what would happen is that the padding out inevitably wouldn’t work and I’d have yet another pair of shoes I’d never wear because they’re too big.The second pair of shoes which arrived today are these wedge trainers. I delusionally thought they looked comfy when I saw them online, so ordered them with extortionate express shipping charges (£20!) to get them in time for FW (can’t even bring myself to say the words anymore).

Not really impressed with them. And they’re uncomfortable. Oh well. FML.

Pink Jeans..

I bought my first pair of pink jeans this time last year and I had never anticipated wearing (and loving!) them as much I have. They are pretty much the only pair of trousers I ever wear (I’m generally a skirt/dress girl at other times) and they are surprisingly so easy to make outfits with. I lived in them during Spring/Summer last year and the only reason I wear them out less often now is ’cause I find them tricky to pull off with my Winter footwear. I was actually having this conversation on Twitter earlier about how I think a black boot really ruins a pale pink jean – just not the right or natural match for it at all in my eyes.It was seeing Cameron Diaz snapped in this pair that made me hunt for my peachy toned pink ones last year! Definitely the best pink jeans I’ve come across on a sleb..

Anyway, I digress.. I love my current pair so much I have decided to invest in another for this Spring. In some ways I do feel like it is a little ‘so last year’ but I have a feeling that this trend is gonna still be rocking for several Summers to come so may as well embrace it seeing as I like it so much.

The two pairs I have whittled my choices down to are both from ASOS (like the original pair). I actually think this is mostly through laziness but also because ASOS seems to be the only place carrying these styles in their petite range – FAIL everywhere else!

Pastel Pink
This pair is probably my favourite.. It’s just a gorgeous pastel pink without being too chalky and sickly sweet. Really wearable, considering how light it is, and actually just another fresher alternative to wearing crisp white jeans. I should add that I have never been one to go for the South of France white denim look, but these jeans let me hang out in both camps as they do have a whiff of that look (which will definitely be a novelty for me), but are still undeniably fashion forward and ‘cool’.

Neon Pastel Pink
So undecided about this pair, I think the styling above has not helped it visually at all either. In fairness I had the same hesitations about pink jeans in general last year before I actually got round to owning my pair and realising how utterly wearable they are, so maybe that will be the case again with this pair. However I have to admit, I just don’t know how good I’m gonna look in the garish neon, almost pukey, pink colour. I genuinely can’t decide whether I think it will look fabulous or awful. I keep trying to imagine it in my head against nice tan skin, sandals and a white vest (completely opposite to how it’s been styled here), but I don’t know if I’m romanticising it and imagining how I want it to look rather than how it actually will look.

I know neon pastel is huge for SS12 and these are definitely the most on trend option of the two, but I have no idea whether it will work on me..

As you can tell I’m leaning toward the first pastel pair just for their simplicity and practicality, but part of me thinks the neon would be the smarter option for this year. What are your thoughts? And how would YOU style them?

The Cat Eye Sunglass

SNB10014xx

I decided long before the weather even hinted at warmth that my sunglass for this summer would be the Cat Eye frame. It was around January, actually, and at the time understandably a good selection on the high street was hard to come by. Now, however, things have changed – now there are lots! So much so I am actually spoilt for choice and cannot decide on the one to stick to.

ASOS have probably the largest selection I’ve seen on the ‘high street’ and I’ve loved their oversized chunky ones especially, but Topshop have really pulled it out of the bag for their kooky authentic 50’s style ones.. so which should I keep?

ASOS Black Clear Lens Cat Eye – Don’t let the clear lens fool you! These actually offer the same protection as the others, the lens is just not tinted!

I think I know which ones I’m keeping (note the word ones, oh yes), but I’d be interested to see which you all prefer…

Nivea Invisible for Black and White Deodorant with ASOS

Nivea have teamed up with ASOS to offer you the chance to win an entire capsule collection of dresses to promote their new Black and White deodorant! Unsurprisingly, the clothing to be won consists solely of black or white pieces (are you a LBW or LWD girl?), highlighting the fact that this new deodorant is particularly brilliant for the often very deodorant-risky black or white clothing. Yep, you can wave goodbye to horrid white marks on your little black dress or worse, yellow gross sweat related stains on your pristine whites! It just so happens that monochrome is in fashion so perfect timing for such an exciting invention!

To win this capsule wardrobe, all you have to do is follow this link http://www.asos.com/nivea and go to the section where it gives you the opportunity to win the black and white wardrobe. Once there, simply accessorise 4 outfits from a choice of accessories using their new styling tool and that’s it!

I’ve entered a few times already (not sure what the limit is but I quite enjoyed accessorising so kept going way past four outfits).. here is a snapshot of my styling.

This is my favourite dress of the four.

The competition runs from today (18th April) till May 31st, so you have plenty of time to keep trying.

We were sent some lovely treats for this sponsored post and I think this may actually be my favourite sponsored post yet! It’s been so much fun styling the clothes, and more importantly, shopping at ASOS. Yay! Fingers crossed I win or if not me, then you. ;)

ASOS Vegas Charm Bracelet & other purchases…

Oh, I’m in heaven. I took advantage of the ‘Free Next Day Shipping’ from ASOS and ordered a Vegas Charm Bracelet yesterday. It just arrived and I’m sooooo in love with it. I love chunky jewellery, especially charm bracelets. Trashy jewellery, really.

This is perfect for me and so my style.

This only cost me £12, bargain I think considering the charms are so beautiful and surprisingly quite weighty. There are 7 charms in total, with a gold chain which wraps around twice.
My favourite charm, of the lot.

The catch, a gold bar with a pearl on each end.

Love love LOVE this, you can pick this up from ASOS for £12!

I also bought some stuff from Miss Selfridge, making good use of their ‘Free Delivery’ offer too (such a sucker). I wrote a post about it a week or so ago (that post is here), but this is what I got..
A black and white stripey bandeau, £12. Size 4, regular range.
I can totally wear this as a dress.

A black playsuit, £25 (on sale from £35). Size 4, petite range.
Sorry about the crappy pics, was lazy and used my camera phone to take ‘em.

Miss Selfridge are having a massive sale at the moment too, I not letting myself look in a bid to curb the spending, but by all means check it out if you can. I’m always buying things from there are they do a great petite range (as well as a tall!), and even their regular range starts from a size 4 (US 0).

Really pleased with both items, but am sooo besotted with the charm bracelet!
