I was massively chuffed the other day when my friend produced my much belated birthday present. He had bought it for me all the way back in June (when my birthday was) but knew, even though he was out for my birthday, that it was probably not a good idea to give it to me right then and there taking into account my penchant for losing everything. That turned out to be a good idea, actually, seeing as around 11pm that night I was walking around London Fields, sans bag and jacket, looking for somewhere to puke (don’t worry, I got my second and third and fourth wind soon after that). The hairdryer would no doubt have been a goner.
I thought this was such a great present as I don’t have a travel hairdryer and ALWAYS need one when I stay anywhere. I think he bought this for me because when I stayed at his Summer house in Brighton last year I was borrowing the house’s travel hairdryer and kept exclaiming, through bursts of hot air, how GREAT the travel hairdryer was! So he remembered and picked one up for me, ahhhhh.
Anyway, I love it! I’ve already taken it somewhere (only to ‘the boys’ house when I went to stay for the weekend – he was quite surprised when I produced a hairdryer out of my Mary Poppins-esque bag) and think it’s brilliant. Actually, I’d go so far as to say I prefer it to a normal sized hairdryer as I can get my small hands around it easier and can control it much better!
It folds up nice and easily and really is very compact! The heat goes up to 1500w and there are two heat settings (although I only ever use the highest). It dries my hair super quick and there’s also a concentrate nozzle which I leave permanently on. The only thing that is a bit annoying about it is that it doesn’t come with it’s own cover case. Oh well.
The particular model I have, the Babyliss Travel Dryer 1500w, is around the £10 mark to purchase and I really do think it’s a worthwhile investment. Not quite slinky hand bag size, but deffo big bag size (it looks much bigger in the picture – it’s tiiiiiiny in real life!). I can actually see this becoming a weekend-handbag staple (I’m such an extremist). Blow dried hair on tap, yes please.
