Elle Beauty Awards 2011

The Elle Beauty Awards 2011 was a couple of weeks ago and I was oh so lucky enough to attend, it wasn’t actually much of an awards ceremony but more a published release announcing the winners and runners up with a little party for all associated. If you don’t know who the winners are yet, buy this month’s issue of Elle (November 2011) and there’s an insert inside with all the categories and winners and runners up. I’ve flicked through it plenty the last few weeks and generally agree with most of the winning products – however check my video below to see what I really thought of the products I already own that have won this year (as you can imagine, I have tried a fair bit!).

Products Covered:
Olay Regenerist Night Renewal Elixir
(SKINCARE: Best Night Cream)
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit (MAKE-UP: Best Concealer)
Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm (MAKE-UP: Lip Balm, Runner-up)
Max Factor False Lash Effect Fushion Mascara (MAKE-UP: Mascara, Reader Favourite)
VO5 Give Me Texture Tousled Style Spray (HAIRCARE: Best Hair Texturiser)
Pantene 24 Smooth & Sleek 24hr Frizz Fighter (HAIRCARE: Best Anti-Frizz)
Smashbox Limitless Lip Stain & Color Seal Balm (MAKE-UP: Best Lip Balm)
Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer (MAKE-UP: Best Tinted Moisturiser)
Max Factor Liquid Effect Pencil (MAKE-UP: Best Eye Kohl)
Thierry Mugler Angel The Refillable Comets EDT (FRAGRANCE: Oriental Runner-up)

Elle’s Beauty Breakthrough Programme
Another thing I wanted to touch on in this post was the launch of Elle’s Beauty Breakthrough Programme. This programme, in its initial year only, offers the winning candidate a year long paid internship split between PZ Cussons Beauty (owner of St Tropez, Charles Worthington and Sanctuary Spa), House PR agency and Elle magazine. Having spent four months at each placement, the winner will at the end have gained valuable experience within many facets of the beauty and media industries. There will be a rigorous application process, as to be expected, but if you’re dying for a foot in the door to the world of beauty media, this could be your chance.
