Not Carrie, but Lina..

I am very much a capsule wardrobe wearer, I tend to wear the same things to death, and then get bored and move on to something else. I actually think this is more to do with my room being so messy that I actually forget I have other clothes. But anyway, with jewellery, it’s pretty much the same deal. I never accessorise for an outfit, I will wear the same necklace, ring, or (very rarely) earrings, and I will wear it with every outfit (usually) until I lose them. I am specifically a big fan of delicate gold chains with cute charms or some kind of vintage factor, and as every other Sex and the City watcher I have wanted my very own ‘Carrie’ necklace for quite some while. It’s the perfect mix of trash and prettiness. Thus, perfect for me. And it pretty much goes with everything and fits in with my attitude towards accessories.

Unfortunately, unlike Carrie I couldn’t hunt mine down in a car boots sale or wherever it was she apparently got hers. My Name Necklace came to my rescue. My Name Necklace kindly offered me a lovely discount to get a ‘Lina’ necklace, in the style of Carrie’s, in gold. I turned down the silver freebie and offered to pay extra for the gold as I don’t really do silver jewellery (nothing wrong with it, it’s just me). I’m glad I did that though, it’s a really lovely non-brassy American gold and I’ve been living in it for months, the only piece of jewellery I ever wear now and as I said, it just goes with everything.

Despite it being manufactured and sent from the states, it arrived within 10 days and THIS particular necklace cost $59.99 (around £30) including free shipping.

A lot of people have commented that it’s not that easy to decipher what is written on it (some folk have even asked if it says David??), so I guess it’s not as illegible as I would have hoped. That could just be down to my silly name though.. But overall I’m pleased with it. One thing I would suggest though, opt for the chain of 16” if you’re on the petite side like me and have a teeny tiny neck. I ordered 18” as according to the site the 16” was apparently meant for children, but really the 18” is a little longer than I’d prefer..

So yes, I have my own ‘Carrie’ necklace.. finally.

Have you wanted your very own ‘Carrie’ necklace? Check out the site and you can even type your own name in and see what your potential necklace will look like before committing to anything! Great fun.
