If you read my last post, where I told you about this great event where you hand in your old straighteners and the lovely Umberto Giannini team will give you a brand spanking new pair Umberto Giannini curling tongs as a trade, then you’re aware that I would never have missed it for the world! It was such a lovely event, head stylist Ben transformed my boring blow dried hair into a luscious curls using none other than the curling irons they were giving away.

Not only did they make my hair look fabulous, I had a play around with them myself once home and am happy to say it was soooo easy using them, you didn’t have to be a professional stylist to work these. I’m embarrassed to admit that my curling tongs at home are probably almost ten years old, purchased around the time of my studying make-up and whilst they’re good, I have suffered many a burns where I just couldn’t handle such a professional piece of equipment designed for real stylists. These Umberto Giannini curling tongs have completely taken over for me, far easier and simpler to use, they heat up in no time, instead of leaving my hair in the tongs for 15 seconds or so like I used to, I only have to keep these in for a couple of seconds and voila! Gorgeous curls. And thanks to the cool tip, nasty burny burny are a thing of the past.

Couldn’t be simpler, just turn up this Tuesday (28th July 2009) with your old straighteners and you will be offered a trade of Umberto Giannini new curling tongs and a bag of his cult product range “Curl Friends”. I’m definitely rocking up and partaking in this swap; fried over straightened hair is sooo 2006, long, luscious, healthy curls are totes the way forward. Yes, technically flat, straight, center parted hair is ‘in’ but it really don’t suit me, and I bet it’s on the way out now anyway.
