Babydoll dress and Skinny Sprinkles…

On Sunday evening I bought a few pieces from Missguided online which arrived today. I’ve never shopped there before so it was really a test order to see the quality and sizing as their prices seemed pretty unreal (very cheap!).. I had actually wanted to get my hands on a pair of their Jeffrey Campbell Lita copies, however the colour I wanted, a blue suede, was out of stock (booo), so instead I settled for these bits..I really liked this dress on the model in the picture, but in reality the peach shade is a bit too strong and the material is really synthetic-y. There was only one left in stock when I ordered, and it was a size Medium which the website claimed to be the equivalent of a size 10. I did worry that it’ll be too big, being a petite 6/8, but thought I’d try my luck and it does actually fit okay – bit baggy around the chest, on the model it was fitted, but other than that everything else seems okay. I also bought these Lendy wedges, I had read a review that said they were really comfy but I could barely walk in them! Having small feet (size 2.5), I knew they were going to be a little big at size 3 but actually they weren’t that bad – the length fit fine, it was just the width. They were loose around the foot leaving them feeling unsupported and I felt the dreaded toe overhang would be a likely probability too, so regrettably I’m sending them back.. Today I’m also starting these Skinny Sprinkles* smoothies! They’re basically sachets of powder that you mix with water to make ‘delicious’ strawberry smoothies that allegedly expand in your stomach to make you feel full. Yes, I thought it sounded scary too! You’re meant to have three a day, 15 minutes before eating but I only really eat ‘properly’ once or twice a day (with smaller snacks in-between), so will only have it a couple of times at the most a day. The good thing about them is that being sachets, or ‘sticks’ as they call it, you can easily carry them around with you so they fit in quite easily with your lifestyle. Will keep you updated on my progress – I have a week supply to trial! I’m going to have one before my dinner this eve. :)

Shred your faaaaace!

Hello, it’s me! Have you missed me? I’ve had NO INTERNET at home for a whole two weeks and haven’t been able to blog at all! Oh, the horror. But it’s fixed now (hooray!) and I can continue with my very very important thoughts on make-up and all things superficial.

30day

So I thought I’d keep you up to speed on what I’ve been doing, as of Sunday (18th July) I started my very first fitness video, it was none other than Jillian Michaels’ ‘30 Day Shred’. I had never watched ‘The Biggest Loser’ or had ever seen her on telly working her so-called magic, but I did notice some chatter on Twitter a few months back about this DVD, generally all positive, so decided to invest six pounds something and purchased it online. I hadn’t opened it for months, it had literally been sitting in my drawer with the cellophane still all wrapped around it until this Sunday, when for some reason I decided I had to get in shape. My sister looked at the cover, and commented, “Isn’t this meant for obese people though?”. Oh sister, I am obese. I may not look it, but I saw this programme once where a woman who was a size 10 and looked technically healthy had actually internal obesity – that of the same as someone who is clearly physically obese! So I think I have internal obesity too as I literally do NOTHING, no exercise, no moving, I get out of breath running up the stairs and moan every time I have to walk more than two steps. I am so unfit. So anyway, yeah I’ve started it.

The DVD claims that it’s possible to lose 20 pounds if you stick to the work outs every day. There are three levels, and each level lasts only 20 minutes, so really doable. Whilst I don’t rush to do it every day (after day one I really have to force myself to want to do it, it’s not fun and I am dripping with sweat after each work out) I still do do it. I’m not expecting to lose 20 pounds in 30 days, but I would like to lose 7-14 pounds and get rid of my bingo wings and what I lovingly call my ‘three month pregnancy belly’.

I haven’t taken any before pics yet (or measurements), I will though (cringe) despite the fact that I am on day 4 already, so sorry it won’t be 100% accurate before/after pics. I’m not sure whether it’s psychological, but I swear I do feel my body is already better, more toned. But on day 10 (6 from now), day 20 and day 30 I will be doing progress reports and letting you know exactly how I’m doing with measurements, what I’ve lost, etc. Exciiiiting!

So that’s what I’ve been doing the last 4 days!

Have you tried the 30 Day Shred? Has it worked for you?
