I was invited down to Yull HQ in Hoxton yesterday for an afternoon of tea, cakes, and pretty, pretty shoes…
Yull are a British shoe brand and their ethos is ‘Style over Fashion’. Their designs are classic fashion footwear that’s ideal for all English sporting and cultural events. They’re so quintessentially English, they even have union jacks printed on the sole of every pair! Learn more about the brand here.
It was a really fun afternoon, Sarah Watkinson-Yull, the brand creator and shoe designer, had all the current styles out in size 3 ready for me to try on and have a play with. Unfortunately, as my feet are really size 2.5 they were a little big, but I’ll discuss later how we’ve hatched a plan to overcome this problem in the future! It’s very exciting. But for now.. onto the shoes.

I know it’s hard to tell how comfy shoes really are when you’re only wearing them for a few minutes each, but they really did feel like the comfiest things ever. I think I actually even commented that some of the kitten heels were as comfy as wearing my slippers!
And here’s a sneaky peek of what we have to look forward to for Autumn/Winter..

So what’s the LinaLast?
Well, a ‘last’ is the foot shaped mold used to make shoes fit to certain sizes, typically you’d have one last of every size you stock so all your shoes are sized and built around that measurement.
Sarah has offered to do a really amazing thing for me. Hearing about my troubles with finding shoes that fit and witnessing for herself how difficult it was, she offered to have a last made with my foot measurements!!! I will, for the first time in my life, have shoes made to fit perfectly as all size 2.5’s from Yull will be made using my foot measurements!!!
I cannot stress how this has made my year. Seriously. The shoes are all so beautiful I could quite happily just live in Yull shoes forever. And to top it off, she’s even going to call the last the LinaLast. I am ridiculously excited about this. Who wouldn’t be?
As I’m sure you can imagine, Make Up to Make Out is going to be following Yull very closely in the future, and I’m so excited at the prospect of being so actively involved with them.
