Bourjois Smokey Eyes Eye Shadow in 03 Mordoré Chic

I first saw these gorgeous Smokey Eyes Eye Shadow trios from Bourjois last week whilst in my local Boots, I almost swooned as they were so pretty, I had to have one. Unfortch despite all the shades looking lush the one I specifically wanted was the warmer brown trio, 03 Mordoré Chic – and this was currently out of stock so I had to unwillingly leave empty handed. Boooo. But today I popped back into Boots and huzzah! My gorgeous smokey eye trio is back in stock! And better still – only for £5.33 (that’s a saving of £2, folks!). So let’s all have a closer inspection and see if it wears as good as it looks!

What initially drew me to these little smokey eye trio palettes was just how utterly beautiful they were, you can really tell big sister brand Chanels’ influence from packaging and product design alone – these domes are exactly like Chanels eye quads in appearance!
Using just this product, a black eyeliner and some mascara I’m quite pleased with the results. The trio provides a pretty bronze shimmer to the eye that is buildable – this is exactly what I was expecting. The pigment isn’t too strong which means a novice can easily get to grips with creating a subtle smokey eye, but there is also enough colour pay off to really emphasise the eye more dramatically. It’s perfect for a nice subtle smokey bronze day time look, which you can then darken up with a little black eyeliner for the evening (which is exactly what I did in the pics below!)! There is however a big difference between this and a shadow that lines as well – I would state that this is strictly for a soft, smokey look. You wouldn’t be able to create much stark contouring here; but then surely that’s what you’d expect from a specifically smokey eye set, no?

I’ve blended the darker shades right up to my brow on the outer halfs, opens the eye more.

I’m loving these little domes, they work brilliantly blended in with a little black (or even dark brown if you prefer) eyeliner, and by using different brushes that pick up more or less pigment you can actually get some decent control when applying it. I’m pretty pleased with the results – what do you guys think? I’m already itching to buy more!

I wonder what the other smokey eye trio shades are like.. Pick this up for the limited time price of only £5.49 from Boots here!
