I’ve completed my Caroline Barnes’ 7 Day Lipstick Challenge! Hooray! For those who aren’t aware of the challenge/competition, bloggers were asked to wear a different shade from the new Max Factor Elixir range, for 7 days, keeping it documented. Whoever Caroline decided had the most beautiful lips, won!
As it takes 7 days to fully benefit from the the powerhouse of ingredients included in the elixir lipsticks, that’s the reason why we had to stick at it for 7 full days..
Here are my results..
So that’s a full 7 days of wearing Max Factor Elixir lipsticks – how do my lips feel? Not bad! I haven’t used balm throughout the challenge and have even napped in a couple of the colours, my lips were definitely not dryer than usual sans lipstick, and that’s saying something as most lipsticks dry my lips to death! In contrast, when I applied these lippies they felt really nourishing and creamy (smelt lovely, too!).
Here’s a re-cap of the last 4 days, carrying on from where I left off on part one of this challenge HERE. All the remainder days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), bar Sunday, have videos to go with them as I realised my video camera was much better at depicting the amazing colours compared to my rubbish on loan crappy camera (my own camera broke).
Day 4: Sunday 24th September – Chilli
Not one of my favourite colours unfortunately, however it actually didn’t look that bad on. Reminded me of what Ricki Lake may have worn in the 90′s during her chat show (all that rustic orange 90′s stuff is making a comeback so it’s probably really on trend). Look mega rough in this pic as am only wearing tinted moisturiser – it was a Sunday, I was spending the day in and didn’t want to wear full make-up, cut me some slack please! I’ve since given this lipstick to my mum and she loves it. ![]()

Day 5: Monday 25th September – Bewitching Coral
It was a toss up between this shade and Pink Brandy, but overall I think this is probably my favourite of the lot! It was DAMN close though. Love this colour, really pigmented and creamy, lasts ages and just instantly prettifies!

Day 6: Tuesday 27th September – Burnt Caramel
The third favourite, joint with the following day’s shade (Day 7). Again, lovely and creamy, and really easy to wear. I preferred to just smudge it into my lips.. The cream formulas are much more easier to wear and are definitely my favourites, as opposed to the shimmers.

Day 7: Wednesday 28th September – Ruby Tuesday
I should really have worn this on Tuesday, considering it’s called Ruby Tuesday! Oh well.. Joint third favourite with Burnt Caramel, what’s not to like? A classic red; bright and statement, simply traffic stopping gorgeousness. Again, super creamy and VERY pigmented. Stained the lips a little bit but what red doesn’t? I think all these lipsticks stain actually (not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes a purposely stained lip is prettier than a full on lipsticked one), but maybe red is the most noticeable.

Sorry about the abrupt ending of this vid – I wanted to keep all these videos really short and found myself babbling near the end..
So there you have it! All 7 days, tried and tested. What’s your favourite colour??? And do I deserve to win this challenge?? (Please just lie and say yes).
Oh, and I should add, on all the ones with videos I’m also wearing the new Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation, just so you know.
