Posts tagged Ciaté Paint Pot – Superficial
I while back I received some lovely Ciaté nail varnishes in their pick of this seasons shades of green. Alongside Mojito, a gorgeous lime green which I absolutely loved (find the review HERE) I also received this darker, more wintery bottle green shade called Superficial. For regular readers of my blog, you all know how Ciaté is probably my favourite nail varnish brand out there, their quality and product consistency is everything I look for in a good nail varnish so I think it’s fair to say we are really just showcasing the colour here!
Application & Verdict
What I’m increasingly noticing with Ciaté varnishes is that 2-3 coats, sometimes even 4 is best. As each coat is so thin it really helps build up nice, even colour intensity without being thick and rubbery, you actually get an amazing shine to them that an overcoat just ruins! Once on (I let it dry mostly before each new coat), it only takes about ten minutes to fully dry and then you can confidently be out the door without a worry of ruining your manicure! Being great quality this varnish also stays put for a loooong time before your nails start to look noticeable shabby – I can get away with a week, sometimes longer but I really enjoy doing my nails and them looking freshly done so seldom leave it that long!
I personally am not really into dark nail varnish shades, despite them being most suitable for this colder time of year (I actually requested the apple green shade Stiletto, not this one but I think they were out of samples of that so sent me this). It’s not that I don’t think darker shades look pretty, I do but just not on myself; I feel it doesn’t really do anything for my skin tone. But nonetheless a great nail varnish for those who do prefer a darker, season apt look for their talons during these oh so cold, blistery nights.
You can pick Ciaté Paint Pots up at ASOS, priced at £9.
