Jelly Pong Pong Supermodel Stain

On paper, this product pretty much ticks all the boxes for me. It looks gorgeous and cute in its pink metallic packaging, it is a modern product for the cheeks and lips, it is a quirky new(ish) brand and it is reasonably priced.
Jelly Pong Pongs’ Supermodel Stain claims to be a highly pigmented long lasting lip and cheek promade/cream stain that wears evenly on all skin types and is full of skin friendly, nurturing ingredients. And actually, I would be inclined to agree.

Application
As I mentioned above, it comes in the most adorable packaging, albeit small packaging, considering this product is TINY! Maybe the same size as one of those special Christmas postage stamps? Despite its small size, it is a good quality compact (not tricky to use in the slightest) and even comes with its own tiny mirror inside that is surprisingly usable. The two shades I purchased were Giggle & Pop (a coral) and Slenderella (ballerina pink), two paller shades from the five shade range. A word of warning, if you’re ordering online the Giggle & Pop shade is a lot less pink than it looks on their website!

For cheeks, you have the choice of applying this straight after foundaton, or after powder. It really is up to you. The clever formula of this little gem means it rarely will clog or cake your make-up. There will be a difference in finish though, you will no doubt get a slight dewier finish without powder underneath, but if you did want a matt-er cheek simply apply this after powder and you’ll have it. Being versatile to both powder and liquid foundation, this means it’s also great for touch ups!

I personally apply this after foundation, by literally just smudging it onto my cheeks. And then the same for my lips. That’s it, done. Incredibly easy, no dabbing, brushes or careful application required what so ever. You can build the colour equally as simply; just keep smudging more in! It is well pigmented, so you only need the smallest amount to a get a reasonable touch of colour, but if you wanted stronger cheeks or lips, it is only a mere couple of smudges away. The texture of this promade is slightly thick and hard, and as I mentioned, well pigmented, so there’s minimal risk of accidentally picking up too much product with your finger. I’m pretty certain anyone could get to grips with using this (admittedly, the darker shades may be a different matter)!
Verdict
Finish wise, this product isn’t as dewy as you might have hoped for, your cheeks won’t be incredibly shiny but they will have a little bit of added gloss to them. How this product excels is by its long lasting, comfortable wearing nature. It doesn’t dry out on your skin, nor does it go cakey or bitty. I’ve worn this stain on many a long nights and when morning comes and I finally dare to check in the mirror I am always amazed at how my cheeks and lips are still perfectly in tact.
Miraculously, it genuinely does even out your skin texture regardless of what type you have, just as it claimed. Despite it being a product that you rub onto your skin (a usual warning sign to many with problem skin!), I would feel confident wearing this product if I had spots or even the occasional dry patch on my cheeks. It simply works with any skin type, and best of all, it doesn’t mess up your foundation when smudging it on, it just glides on top.

Although I do prefer my cheeks being a little bit more dewier, this is a good, reliable, all rounder product for the lips and cheeks. When my skin is troublesome, I don’t have to worry about this stain irritating my skin and possibly high lighting the problem, I know I can get a decent look with minimal effort.
And all this for £10, with a mirror, small enough to fit in the condom pocket of your jeans (well, just about), AND in gorgeous packaging. Bargain. I can’t wait to try the other colours!
