Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush

Let’s face it. This is without a doubt meant to a high street version of Stilas Convertible Colour, and because it is a high street product, I am happy to say it is actually not that different AT ALL to Stilas, except for maybe a saving of £10.

I love blusher, blusher is my thing that I truly indulge in. I currently have about fifty, but I only actually wear about six out of that fifty. It’s tricky finding a good blush. The blushers I get really excited about is cream blusher, well, cream, gel, liquid, anything that leaves your skin dewy and fresh and shiny, supermodel-esque, I’m not so hot on the matte stuff (in general as well, I think it’s because I have dry skin so like to make my skin look deceptively oily). Anyway, when Max Factors Creamy Blush came out, after much testing on the back of my hand I decided it looked promising enough and purchased one in Soft Pink, a bright candy pink.

The first few times I wore it, I have to admit I wasn’t that impressed. I found it cloggy and short lasting, and in the end would use another blusher product on top to remedy it. However, when I tried it again to take some pics for this review, I have completely changed my mind.

Application
As you see it comes in tiny round pot which has great mobility value, you could easily tuck this in a jean pocket if you didn’t want to take a big bag out. Application is pretty simply, I would work a fair bit of the product onto my finger and then dab it onto my cheeks; if you rub this product it into your cheeks you risk messing up your foundation so I’d advise dabbing. If you wear powder then you’d apply powder after this, and obviously skip the cheeks as it’ll make the blusher go gross and cloggy!

It certainly felt very similar to the Stilas Convertible Colour, only just ever so slightly thicker in consistency. It gave my cheeks a gorgeous pop of colour with a crazy amount of dew, I LOVED how it looked. Admittedly, it does get cloggy depending on how much you put on, and once you put it on you had to be careful not to touch it as it doesn’t seem to set, so you could easily ‘scrape’ a bit off by accident (hmm, nice thought!). But that aside, I was impressed.

After wearing it for a while I noticed that it does wears off quite easily, I would have to reapply very often, but reapplying was easy and I found you could still add more without it looking cakey, however when it started to wear off on me, it highlighted my pores in doing so which isn’t ideal! Once you topped it up the problem was fixed, but you’ll probably need to check your make-up every couple of hours or so, if not before. Also, I wouldn’t recommend this product if you have acne or are prone to spots, it will certainly high light them and most likely aggravate as well, sorry.

Verdict
In comparative to Stila Convertible Colour it is both better AND worse. With The Stila Convertible Colour out of my three shades that I own, I found only one worked amazingly, and the others seemed to made of a completely different formula. So the one shade of Stilas that would be in direct competition with Max Factors Soft Pink is Petunia, one of the not so good convertible colours. Thus unsurprisingly, I prefer the Max Factor one, as it more pigmented, and you can build up the colour depth more easily. Also, I will have to test this properly as I haven’t worn my Stila one for a while, but despite the Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush being short wearing, it was longer wearing than Stilas Convertible Colour in Pertunia! So if I was to choose which to wear out of the two, I’ll be heading down the Max Factor Creamy Blush route definitely.

The cons against Max Factors Creamy Blush is that it is thicker than Stilas Convertible Colour, and while that’s great for colour and shine, it also means it will get cloggy and ‘sit’ on the skin. The Stila Convertible Colour definitely feels better on the skin and does that a lot less, and at the end of the day, you are paying for better ingredients. But all in all, I’m really liking these Max Factor blushers, and for a mere £7, over £10 less than Stilas, I’d recommend you try these out. Oh, and another thing! These are great on the lips too (check pics below), really moisturising, far better than the Stila ones are! I’m pretty certain I will be purchasing more shades, I’ll let you know how I get on.
Some pics of me wearing it!
