Treats from Morocco

This is quite cute. My parents went on a mini break a few weeks back to Morocco, it was actually a combined birthday present for both parent from my sisters and I – their birthdays are quite near each other so pretty handy for organising this sort of thing. My mum returned with a case full of trinkets, but what naturally caught my eye was this little clay thing she bought on a market stool that works as a lipstick!

The colour pigment is made from flowers, and that is roughly all I know about it. It’s quite a sweet concept,  and whilst the critic in me is desperately trying to ignore the fact that I have no idea what it’s entirely made from and because of that whether it’s even safe to use(!),  I’ve tried it regardless. Couldn’t resist.

You moisten your finger, rub it in the pot, loosen the pigment, and then apply to your lips!

It works like a lip stain, and actually lasts on the lips quite well like a stain would too, although admittedly the sheer size of it is a bit more impractical to carry around. Cute idea though, no? And the colour is made from flowers, ahhh…

She also bought these treats..

YUM. So beautiful.

Not wanting to end on a bad note, but my dad said something quite sad on Monday that has stuck with me while we were having dinner to celebrate my sister’s birthday – he said Morocco was a gorgeous, lovely place, and were without a doubt going to be next on America’s hit list. I found that really upsetting.. :(
