Popped into the No7 Autumn collection press day yesterday and thought I’d share with you what we have to look forward to in the coming months!
Chatting with Lisa Eldridge, the creative director of the seasonal collections from No7, she discussed how for Autumn the big looks on the catwalk were minimalism and natural beauty. In direct opposition to all the colour and resurgence of classical make-up from Spring/Summer, this Autumn we should be aiming to look fresh faced, glowing and fuss free.
A breakdown of the new Autumn limited edition products are: Stay Perfect Primer, Lip & Cheek Sticks, Nail Varnishes, [cream] Eye Colours and Double-Ended [eye] Pencils.
Having swatched and played around with the new products whilst I was there, I am most excited about the Lip & Cheek Sticks, particularly the one in a gorgeous orangey-coral shade (‘Pink tint’). It had a great texture that wasn’t too greasy and nicely pigmented, and the colour was divine.
The liquid/cream Eye Colours were also pretty enticing, both Lisa and the model were wearing the Pewter shade, with nothing else except mascara, and it looked amazing. The lasting power appeared to be brilliant, no creases were in sight and Lisa had had hers on all day! I can really see myself using those two products together for a gorgeous fresh faced, subtle smokey eye with a pop of colour on the cheeks. Lush.
No7 are also bringing out a Lash Adapt Mascara; which allows you to really build up volume (up to six coats, in fact!) whilst maintaining separation, and also a new foundation for mature skin called Restore & Renew (a further extension of the Restore & Renew skincare range).
I have yet to try either of those products but something about the foundation caught my eye, just looking at it through the plastic packaging I could spot that the texture was completely different to N07 foundations in the past. It seemed super light and fresh. Despite it being for elder skin (we’re talking 60 and above), I swatched some on the back of my hand and it was delightful. Sunk it beautifully with a no make-up finish, leaving a fresh, silky, borderline dewy glow. I am really excited to try this when it comes out.
The last product that caught my attention was this dry skin cream, a dry skin saviour, according to the packaging! Skin Rescuer. Similar to products like Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, this cream instantly relieves dry areas and patches. The main difference however is that it leaves no greasy residue (so you can’t double it up as a lip gloss!) and is completely fragrance free. I’ve applied some of this on the backs of my heels and in-between my fingers which always get really dry from over-washing.. I’ll keep you posted!
So those are my most exciting picks from No7 Autumn.. All of the products are available from August this year, got your eye on anything?
