Simple Eye Make-up Remover

So this post may not seem a very exciting post compared to the luscious blushers and lip gloss reviews, but I do feel that this eye make up remover by Simple genuinely deserves a mention on my blog..

I first stumbled across this little find at a friends’ house. I was staying the night and needed something to take my make-up off with. Not usually one for the brand “Simple” (probably because it was called Simple and thus conjured images of it being weak and not active enough), I tried it out and was pleasantly surprised.

I’ve since bought this eye make up remover about three times, it is the BEST high street eye make-up remover I have ever come across, and possibly better than most department store brands as well.

One of the best features about Simple Eye Make-up Remover is that it is non oily, I absolutely despise heavy, greasy eye make-up removers that leave a film of oily residue onto your skin. Ick! The texture of this is just ever so slightly thicker than water, but hardly at all, almost like a toner. It comes in a clear plastic bottle, and is pleasingly see through in colour as well.

Application
With this Simple product, I would simply (!) just saturate two cotton pads, press them against my closed eye lids for a few seconds and then then gently move the pads up and down a little. That would loosen my eye make-up making it easy to carefully wipe the remainder away. It would take off everything! Admittedly, I generally don’t wear waterproof mascara (it dehydrates your lashes!) but it takes all my stubborn liquid eyeliner off in a jiffy!

This eye make-up remover is so good that I often just use the same pads I used on my eyes on the rest of my face, turning them over in between, to get the majority of the make-up off. Normally this wouldn’t be advisable if your eye make-up remover was oily in the slightest, but as this isn’t it worked beautifully. Of course, after that I would then use an oil cleanser (twice applied, twice removed with a toning water), followed by a face wash (again, twice applied!), but I do feel my the eye make-up remover gets the majority of the make-up off first, allowing me to get a really thorough cleansed skin with the other products after. One of my O.C.D.’s is putting moisturiser on skin that still has make-up on, even the slightest bit, it grosses me out, I’m very compulsive about that!

The only downside to this product is that I go through it like water, one 125ml bottle would last about a month if I was wearing make-up every day, two months at a stretch. However it’s so cheap (under £3!) that it’s completely affordable to keep buying monthly. I even buy the small 50ml size to keep in my bag as a travel version – so long as I have this eye make-up remover and my moisturiser (also dispensed in a travel pot!), I will never be caught short!
